Star Fuji
The 187 meter long, 40850 dwt bulk freighter Star Fuji became disabled on the Weser River near Kleinensiel, Germany. The Star Fuji was headed toward the North Sea when it suffered engine failure. The vessel went adrift in the strong current towards shore. Two tugs came to the assistance and towed the freighter to Bremerhaven. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The water police launched an investigation into the incident. Reports state the vessel’s fuel system had been improperly maintained causing the vessel engine to fail. The crew made repairs and the vessel left port later the same day.
