The 1118 dwt river tanker Myan-Aung collided with the 17735 dwt car carrierMalacca Highway on the Yangon River near Thilawa, Myanmar. The Myan-Aung capsized after the collision and sank. Seventeen crew from the Myan-Aung were rescued. The cause of the collision was not reported.
The 126 meter long river passenger vessel Belvedere allided with a bridge on the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal at Passau, Germany. The vessel was passing under the bridge when its wheelhouse struck. The wheelhouse was destroyed disabling the Belvedere. The vessel drifted until it went aground in shallow water. The hull was damaged and suffered a small leak after the grounding. No reports of injuries to the 98 passengers and crew on board. The Belevedere was taken under tow by the river passenger vessel Bolero to a shipyard to Linz.
