Serenissima

The 87 meter long, 590 dwt passenger ship Serenissima went aground while entering Oban Bay near Argyll, Scotland.  The Serenissima was loaded with 61 passengers and 51 crew when it became stuck near the harbour on a sand bank known as Corran Ledge. The vessel contacted the RNLI who dispatched a lifeboat to the scene.   The RNLI lifeboat was able to refloat the vessel the following day.  The Serenissima proceeded into Oban Bay where it anchored and underwent inspection.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Adrana

ADRANA

The 100 meter long, 6366 dwt freighter Adrana allided with the jetty at Bremerhaven, Germany.  The Adrana was attempting to enter the port when it struck the north pier.  The freighter  suffered only minor damage to its bow, but the pier reported significant damage.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.  Reports state the cause of allision was due to a navigational mistake.

Baltia

Baltia

BALTIA

The 224 meter long,  75776 dwt bulk freighter Baltia went aground off Maputo, Mozambique.   The Baltia was leaving Maputo when it stranded blocking traffic going in and out of the port.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.  The Baltia was later refloated the same day and proceed on its voyage to Richards Bay.
