The 72 meter long wellboat Ro Fjord went aground near Hyllestad, Norway.   The vessel had veered off course and run ashore.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.   The crew of the Ro Fjord were able to refloat the vessel later the same day.   Reports state the Ro Fjord didn’t suffer any damage due to grounding on sandy bottom.   The Ro Fjord later proceeded to be inspected for damage.

The 58 meter long passenger ferry Kalamis collided with the 42 meter long passenger ferry Erdem Karadeniz in the Bosphorus near Haydarpasha, Turkey.   The two vessels collided head-on in dense fog.   Three passengers were injured.   Authorities dispatched several rescue boats to the scene.   The injured passengers were transferred to the rescue boats and taken ashore.   The remaining passengers were returned back to port.  No details provided to the damage either vessel sustained in the collision. Reports state that ferry service was suspended afterwards until weather conditions improved.

Lam Hong 26

Lam Hong 26

The 56 meter long, 1024 dwt freighter Lam Hong 26 sank in the Gulf of Tonkin near Hai Phong, Vietnam.   The Lam Hong 26 had become disabled when its propeller had become entangled.   The vessel went adrift in heavy winds and developed a significant list.   The crew requested assistance with a rescue vessel responding.   All eight crew were safely rescued before the Lam Hong 26 sank.  The vessel was carrying iron ore from Nghe An to China.
