Gamle Salten

Gamle Salten

The 42 meter long passenger ship Gamle Salten became disabled near Træna, Norway.   Shortly after the Gamle Salten had departed from Trænafestivalen, the vessel suffered engine failure.   The vessel contacted the Norwegian Coast Guard for assistance who dispatched a lifeboat to the scene.  The lifeboat took the vessel under tow and proceeded to Bodø.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Hamburg allided with the 74 meter long self-propelled barge Gramper on the Danube River at the Kachlet Lock near Passau, Germany.  The Hamburg struck into the Gramper’s stern causing damage to the Gramper’s rudder.   Reports state the damage to the rudder was around 25,000 euros.  One deckhand on the Gramper was injured when a mooring line snapped.  No reports of pollution being released.   Both vessels were towed to Passau where the water police have launched an investigation into the incident.  Reports state the Hamburg was moving slowly and in ballast which kept damage to a minimum.

Dyroy

The 41 meter long r0-ro ferry Dyroy allided at the landing at Sandsøy, Norway.  No reports of injuries to the passengers or crew on board.  Authorities suspended further sailings while launching an investigation into the incident.  No further details reported.
