The 294 meter long, 67713 dwt container ship Dresden Express went aground on the Elbe near the Oste estuary. The Dresden Express had departed from the container terminal in Hamburg when it had suffered rudder failure while passing another vessel. The Dresden Express dropped anchor but became stuck in the low tide. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Several tugs were able to refloat the Dresden Express on the following high tide. After inspection and an investigation, the vessel was allowed to proceed on to its destination to Rotterdam.
