The 105 meter long self-propelled barge Friedrich Götz allided with a bridge over the Neckar River near Untertürkheim, Germany. The barge was headed to Stuttgart from Mannheim with a cargo of containers when the Friedrich Götz smashed against the underside of the bridge. The barge’s wheelhouse was smashed injuring the master of the vessel. He was later taken to hospital for treatment. The Friedrich Götz was maneuvered to a nearby container terminal in Heidelberg.  Reports state that damage is between 30,000 and 40,000 Euros.

Pogranichnik Kirdishchev

The 54 meter long fishing vessel Pogranichnik Kirdishchev became disabled in the Sea of Okhotsk. The Pogranichnik Kirdishchev had damaged its propeller when it became entangled in a rope. A tug was requested and took the trawler under tow to Petropavlovsk, Russia. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
