The 42 meter long coastal cargo vessel Zhe Ding 49067 was blown ashore in the East China Sea off Zhejiang Zhoushan, China. The Zhe Ding 49067 had its anchor drag as heavy seas kicked up as Typhoon Swan passed by. The 5 crew on board were safely rescued, but the vessel suffered damage.  No further details reported.

The 13.5 ton fishing vessel Konpira Maru capsized after colliding with the 498 tonne coastal tanker Shoyo Maru off Mihama, Japan. The fishing vessel was struck by the passing tanker spilling the two crew into the water.  The Coast Guard reported that only one crewman was later rescued while the other was still missing. No reports of injuries or damage to the tanker Shoyo Maru.  The Shoyo Maru was en route to Kawasaki with 300 tons of chemicals on board.

On August 19, the 11 meter long, 2129 gt lighter Pumi Ratn Nawa 2 sank in high seas on the Gulf of Siam near Si Chang, Chonburi, Thailand. The Pumi Ratn Nawa 2  was loaded with 1087 tons of clinker waiting to be transferred  to a bulk carrier bound for Bangladesh.  While moored near the anchored bulk carrier, the Pumi Ratn Nawa 2 sustained damage as winds and waves cause the vessel to impact with the bulk carrier.  The lighter developed a leak and sank a short time later.  Authorities marked the location where the vessel sank and is monitoring the area for pollution. No reports of injuries.
