Nova Cura

The 109 meter long cargo vessel Nova Cura ran aground on the reefs near Lesbos, Greece. The Nova Cura was headed to Aliaga from Istanbul with a cargo of pipes when it went aground. The Nova Cura suffered a hull breach on its starboard side and suffered water ingress in the bow.. No reports of injuries to the seven crew.  Patrol boats along with other vessels responded to the Nova Cura aid. Reports state there was no pollution released.  Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 124 meter long , 12,395 dwt tanker No. 3 Heung-A Pioneer suffered an explosion off Penang, Malaysia. The tanker had departed from Penang  bound for Singapore when a gas canister caught fire resulting in the explosion. The vessel requested assistance and returned back to port. One crewman was killed in the explosion and another five were injured. The extent of damage was not reported. Authorities has launched an investigation into the incident.

The 74 foot long fishing vessel Privateer sank off Grays Harbor, Washington. The Privateer had sustained uncontrolled flooding through an 8 inch hole in the hull.  The vessel requested assistance with the Coast Guard dispatching a Motor Life Boat to the scene. The Lifeboat safely transferred the three crew off the Privateer before the fishing vessel sank. No reports of injuries.
No pollution reported, but the vessel had a  maximum fuel capacity of 6,000 gallons. The cause of the sinking is under investigation.
