Formentera

On August 27, the 135 meter long self-propelled barge Formentera ran aground on the Easter Scheldt between Kats and Stavenisse, Netherlands. The Formentera was headed  to Duisburg from Terneuzen Hansweert in ballast when it grounded. Two tugs arrived on scene and were able to refloat the Formentera later the same day. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On August 25, the 126 meter long, 4673 dwt ro-ro cargo vessel Kompozitor Gasanov ran aground on the Volga-Caspian Sea Canal near the 138 kilometer mark. The Kompozitor Gasanov was en route to Baku from Olya when it suffered engine failure while heaving its anchor. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On August 22, the 44 meter long, 1000 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Kragerø ran aground  in Skåtøy Sound near Jomfruland. The Kragerø was headed to Jomfruland when it suffered a technical fault causing the ferry aground. The ferry was later refloated and proceeded to Jomfruland. Divers inspected the hull and found no damage. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
