On September 16, the 190 meter long, 57200 dwt bulk carrier Sam Wolf ran aground near El Faro, Puerto Cortes, Honduras. The Sam Wolf was approaching Puerto Cortes when it was driven off course by strong currents and ran aground just offshore from the beach. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
