Zelenga

The 82 meter long, 1810 dwt cargo vessel Zelenga ran aground on the Don River near Rostov-on-Don, Russia. The vessel had veered out the fairway when it became stuck on a mudbank while en route to Yalta. A tug was dispatched and was able to free the Zelenga a short time later. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 80 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Bitumina 3 caught fire while berthed at a shipyard at Mülheim, Germany. Local fire brigades from Cologne were alerted as smoke was spotted coming from the vessel. A search of the vessel found some insulation material had caught fire between two tanks. The fire was quickly extinguished.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 197 meter long, 58695 dwt bulk carrier Global Laguna caught fire while berthed at Iskenderun, Turkey. The vessel was unloading 45,000 tons of scrap from the Netherlands when fire broke out in the hold. Local fire fighters and tugs responded to the scene and brought the blaze under control. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
