The 76 meter long cargo vessel Fukuyoshi Maru No. 1 allided with the breakwater at Taketoyo, Honshu, Japan. The vessel had made a navigational error with the bow striking the breakwater. The Fukuyoshi Maru No. 1 sustained damage to its bow and the breakwater suffered damage.  No reports of injuries.

Authorities were able to pull the Fukuyoshi Maru No. 1 free some five hours later. The vessel proceeded to berth in Taketoyo where it will undergo surveys.

The 13 meter long fishing vessel Germans Fortuny ran aground near Salou, Spain. The vessel had run ashore onto the beach off Ponent. No reports of injuries to the 4 crew on board. Authorities dispatched the rescue boat Salvamar Fomalhaut to the scene.  Rescuers were able to refloat the Germans Fortuny a short time later and towed the fishing vessel back Tarragona. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

The 86 meter long self-propelled barge Achim ran aground on the Danube near Wilshofen-Wieshof, Germany. The Achim departed from Vislhofen with 1000 tons of fertilizer when it encountered dense fog. The vessel veered out of the fairway and drove up into the shallows. The Achim suffered outer hull breaches and water ingress, but the inner hull remained intact. The water police and the local fire brigade were alerted and arrived on scene a short time later. Their efforts help dewatering and salvage of the Achim. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
