On the morning of October 26, the 91 meter long, 778 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Samsø (IMO: 9548562) allided with a quay at Kalundborg, Denmark. The Samsø was arriving from a voyage from Ballen when it approached its berth in Kalundborg. Just before it reached the berth, a door for walking passengers was opened prematurely and struck a fender on the quay. The door caught the fender causing damage to the door’s hinges and pulled the fender sideways.

The Samsø cancelled several sailings until repair work on the door could be completed and inspected by the Danish Maritime Authority. Reports state the vessel was able to proceed on its scheduled voyage later that afternoon. No reports of injuries and no pollution released.
