On the morning of November 17, the 99 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Andreas Kalvos (IMO: 8500484) allided with the quay in Sami, Kefalonia, Greece. The Andreas Kalvos was loaded with 157 passengers, 33 crew and 38 vehicles when it struck the quay while mooring. The starboard side of the stern sustained some hull damage during the incident. All passengers disembarked and there were no reports of injuries.

Authorities detained the Andreas Kalvos from its scheduled sailing to Patras until the damage could be repaired and the vessel given a certificate of seaworthiness. No reports if any pollution was released during the incident.
