On September 28. the 62 meter long fishing vessel Krossfjord became disabled off Kristiansund, Norway. The trawler had suffered engine failure and was unable to restore power. The Krossfjord requested assistance and the patrol boat Sortland responding. The Sortland took the Krossfjord under tow back to Kristiansund. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
On September 7 , the 40 meter long yacht Kanga caught fire in the Adriatic Sea off Dubrovnik, Croatia. The yacht had 9 passengers and 4 crew on board when an electrical short ignited a fire on board the vessel. The crew was unable to contain the blaze and requested assistance from the local fire brigades in Dubrovnik and from the island of Mljet. The crew and passengers on board the Kanga were safely evacuated while fire fighters worked to contain the fire. The fire would be eventually contained by the next day, but 3 fire fighters were injured. The Kanga suffered extensive damage with its superstructure destroyed and much of the hull damaged.
Authorities had the hull towed to Prapanto where the fire re-ignited again. Reports state the second fire was quickly controlled. Authorities have dispatched a response boat to the area to contain any pollution released.
On September 4, the 30 meter long, 442 gt tugboat Kyuei Maru No. 18 and the 2500 gt crane barge Tukasa ran aground on a breakwater at Hyogo, Kobe, Japan. The vessels had been at anchor when typhoon Jebi made landfall nearby. Strong winds caused the anchor lines to drag and the vessels were blown up on a breakwater. Both the Kyuei Maru No. 18 and the Tukasa sustained hull damage. Reports state an oil boom was placed around the Kyuei Maru No. 18 as some fuel pollution had been released. No reports of injuries.
