Mercy God

The 82 meter long general cargo ship Mercy God ran aground in the Aegean Sea off Bozcaada Island, Turkey. The cargo vessel had been at anchor when storms caused the anchor to drag and the vessel was blown ashore.  Tugs were dispatched and the vessel was refloated and taken to a nearby anchorage. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.

BLUE_DREAMThe 112 meter long LPG Tanker Blue Dream went aground in the Aegean Sea near Kos Island, Greece.  The Blude Dream was en route to Suez from Kerch, Ukraine when it grounded.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.  The tanker was able to refloat itself and proceeded to Kos to be inspected.

Nissos Mykonos

The 141 meter long, 2651 dwt passenger ship Nissos Mykonos suffered a fire in the Aegean Sea near Karlovassi, Greece.   The Nissos Mykonos had left Piraeus with 174 passengers and 74 crew bound for Samos with other stops at several islands.  The fire started in the vessel’s smokestack releasing thick black smoke.  The crew was able to extinguish the blaze.   Five passengers were evacuated from the vessel after suffering from smoke inhalation.  The remaining passengers were transferred to another ferry.  No details reported to the extent of damage to the vessel.
