Adriatic Sea Collision

The 90 meter long, 4496 dwt freighter Joerg N collided with the fishing vessel Golub near Pula, Croatia on the Adriatic Sea.  The Golub quickly sank after the collision.  The eight crewmen were able to get into the lifeboats.  The Joerg N continued on its voyage and didn’t aid in the rescue.   The crew of the Golub was able to reach shore an hour later with all men reported safe.  Authorities contacted the Joerg N and requested it to proceed to Rijeka where it will be inspected.   An investigation into the incident is being conducted.

Rijeka Collision

Rijeka Collision

The 2530 dwt freighter Nazli was in collision with the fishing vessel Ogorje while leaving the port of Rijeka, Croatia.   The master of the Ogorje suffered minor injuries in the collision.   No pollution was released.   An investigation into the accident is being conducted.

Turbocem Disabled

Turbocem Disabled

The 5861 dwt freighter Turbocem became disabled off Croatia due to an engine failure.   The Turbocem had left Venice bound for the Tyrrhenian Sea port of Civitavecchia, Italy.   The vessel was taken under tow to the Ploce, Croatia for repairs.
