The 366 meter long container ship MSC Fabiola ran aground in the southern end of the Suez Canal, Egypt. The MSC Fabiola was en route to Oman from Malta when it suffered engine failure. Without power, the boxship drifted aground. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Traffic on the canal was blocked with eight ships detained. The MSC Fabiola remain aground until the following day when it was refloated assisted by six tugs.

The 45 foot long fishing boat Captain Dump II became disabled off the Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina. The fishing vessel dropped anchor and contacted the Coast Guard for assistance. A Motor Lifeboat was dispatched to the scene and took the Captain Dump II under tow. The vessels proceeded into Beaufort Inlet where another fishing boat took over the tow. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On April 10, the 95 meter long reefer cargo vessel Silver Pearl ran aground in the Ulve Sound near Vågsøy, Norway. The vessel had suffered a technical fault before running aground. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Silver Pearl was refloated on the following high tide assisted by a tug.  The Silver Pearl proceeded to Måløy for inspection.
