Highspeed 5

The 85 meter long, 407 dwt ferry Highspeed 5 was struck by the vessel St. Helena at port of Mykonos, Greece.  The St. Helena had suffered engine failure and drifted into the pier and the moored Highspeed 5.   The ferry suffered a small gash in the hull above the water line, broken railing and damage to its drivetrain.   No reports of injuries on either vessel and no pollution was released.  The 102 passengers scheduled for a voyage from Mykonos to Tinos-Syros on the Highspeed 5 were transferred to another ferry.   The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Evia Star

Evia Star

The 87 meter long, 940 dwt ro-ro ferry Evia Star collided with a yacht near the port of Marmari, Greece.  The ferry loaded with 57 passengers and vehicles was departing for a scheduled voyage to Rafina when it struck the sailboat.   The sailboat suffered damage to its mast while the Evia Star was undamaged.  No reports of injuries.   The Coast Guard dispatched a rescue boat to tow the yacht back to Marmari.   The Evia Star proceeded back to Marmari to be surveyed, but was later able to continue on its voyage.

Jaguar

Jaguar

The 190 meter long, 14643 dwt container ship Jaguar became disabled near Thessaloniki, Greece.   The Jaguar had left Thessaloniki when it suffered engine failure.   The vessel returned to Thessaloniki where it made repairs and inspected by authorities.   The Jaguar departed the next day and continued on its voyage to Piraeus.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
