Tug Sank

Tug Sank

A 15 meter long tug sank in the Gulf of Kutch near Vadinar, India.  The tug suffered water ingress when rough weather struck while the vessel was moored to an unprotected jetty.   The six crew on board were rescued by another tug owned by the same company. No injuries reported. Reports state the tug was rebuilt in 2011 and was contracted for a year by a refinery in Vadinar.

Sea Angel

Sea Angel

The 70 meter long freighter Sea Angel sank in rough seas near Kochi, India.  The Sea Angel was under tow by the 674 dwt freighter Morning Star heading to a breaking yard to be scrapped.  No reports of injuries.  The Morning Star was detained at an anchorage near Kochi while authorities conduct an investigation.   Reports state the Sea Angel will be removed or scrapped on site where the vessel sank.
