The 225 meter long, 77684 dwt bulk carrier Glory Trader ran aground on the Mississippi River near Pilottown, Louisiana. The Glory Trader was headed to Haifa from New Orleans when it ran aground.

Reports state two tugs were dispatched to the scene to assist in refloating the bulk carrier. No further details reported.

On May 23, the 52 meter long towboat Graestone Express allided with a bridge on the Mississippi River near Vicksburg, Mississippi. The towboat was pushing 14 barges loaded with coal or grain when it struck the bridge. Some 11 barges broke loose, but later corralled onto the nearby riverbank. No reports of injuries.

Traffic was halted over the bridge and and all nearby vessel traffic on the river. Inspectors found the bridge to be safe. All traffic resumed after a few hours. No reports of damage or pollution released.

The 44 meter towboat Dottie Strait allided with a bridge on the Mississippi River near Clinton, Iowa. Around midnight, the Dottie Strait had struck the Sabula Railroad Bridge. Authorities closed the bridge and nearby traffic on the river was halted until the bridge could be surveyed by divers. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
