The 110 meter long self-propelled tanker Istoromi collided with the 86 meter long self-propelled tanker Alto Mira on the Outer Maas near Poortugaal, Netherlands. Two vessels were passing during the early morning hours when the Alto Mira suffered a steering fault. Unable to avoid collision the master of the Alto Mira kept the tanker on a path where both vessels collided  head-on.
