The 82 meter long, 2694 dwt freighter Wilson Mosel allided with the quay at Papenburg, Germany.  The vessel was departing from the port bound for Rotterdam when it struck the pier.   The Wilson Mosel suffered a gash in the hull with some 200 liters of diesel fuel was release into the harbor.   The local fire brigade deployed an oil boom to contain the spill.   No reports of injuries.   Reports state the cause of the allision was due to human error.  The master and the 1st mate of the Wilson Mosel was fine 1000 Euros.   The vessel was allowed to leave port the next day.

The 87 meter long, 3269 dwt freighter Wilson Dover allided with the lock wall and gate on the Ijmuiden at Papenburg, Germany.   The freighter was a bit impatient and proceeded to exit the lock before the lock gates had opened.   The vessel attempted to slow down but hit the lock wall before hitting the lock gate.   The vessel suffered dents in the bow along with scrapes against the hull.   The lock gate was slightly bent from the incident.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

Martha Disabled

Martha Disabled

The 75 meter long, 2822 dwt freighter Martha became disabled on the Ems river near Papenburg, Germany.   The Martha en route for St. Petersburg from Papenburg, Germany suffered damage to its cooling system and had to return back to port for repairs.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
