The 176 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Huckleberry Finn allided with ramp at Rostock, Germany.  The ferry was departing the dock at Rostock en route to Trelleborg when high winds caused the vessel to strike the roro ramp.  The Huckleberry Finn suffered a seven meter long gash into the hull above the waterline.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.  The ferry returned to the dock and was detained by authorities.  Reports state damage was over 50000 €.

The 116 meter long, 7479 dwt tanker Wisby Verity collided with the 38 meter long ro-ro ferry Warnow in the Rostock Sea Canal near Hohe Düne, Germany.  The ferry was proceeding from Warnemünde to Hohe Düne with 6 passengers and 1 vehicles when it veered to avoid another ferry enter the port when it crashed into the Wisby Verity.    The Warnow suffered hull damage with some water ingress.   Two passengers on the ferry were injured and taken to hospital.   No reports of injuries or damage on board the Wisby Verity.   The water police have detained the Wisby Verity while they conduct an investigation.

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

The 200 meter long, 7800 dwt ro-ro ferry Mecklenburg-Vorpommern allided with a quay at Rostock, Germany.   The ferry had lost power after an engine failure causing the allision.   A tug was requested and proceeded to help moor the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern back to dock.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  All passengers and vehicles were safely unloaded.   The ferry was pulled from service to allow an inspection of the vessel.
