On February 25, the 138 meter long, 3775 dwt cargo vessel Zhadeit collided with the 130 meter long, 7109 dwt tanker Lerik on the Don River off Rostov-on-Don, Russia. The Zhadeit’s bow struck into the side of the Lerik.  The results was a hull breach on the Lerik while the Zhadeit sustained significant bow damage.  No reports of injuries.  Local authorities dispatched a team to the scene to investigate the incident. No reports of pollution released by the Lerik.

Renamed Port Olya 2 in 2018. Formerly the UCF1

The 123 meter long, 5185 dwt cargo vessel Port Olya 2 ran aground on the Volga-Caspian Sea Canal near the 143 kilometer mark. The cargo vessel was en route to Amirabad with a cargo of grain from Port Olya when it became stuck.  The crew was able to refloat the vessel later the same day without assistance.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 140 meter long, 6207 dwt cargo vessel Zernograd went aground on the Don River off Petrovskiy, Russia. The Zernograd was en route to Trabzon, Turkey from Rostov-on-Don with a cargo of grain when it became stuck on the river. The crew was unable to refloat the vessel and requested assistance of a tug.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
