Lub Romkes

The 25 meter long fishing vessel Lub Romkes UK 194 became disabled while off Schiermonnikoog, Netherlands.   The vessel had suffered engine failure and the crew was unable to make repairs.  The crew contacted the KNRM who dispatched two lifeboats to the scene.  The lifeboats took the fishing vessel under tow back to Lauwersoog.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Kluut

The 12 meter long tender vessel Kluut went aground near Schiermonnikoog, Netherlands.   The KNRM lifeboat from Schiermonnikoog responded to the scene and was able refloat the Kluut.   No reports of injuries to the two crew on the Kluut, damage, or pollution being released.

Monnik Aground

Monnik Aground

The 58 meter long ferry Monnik went aground on a sandbank near Schiermonnikoog, Netherlands.   The ferry had some 100 to 150 passengers on board when a strong wind and tide kept the Monnik firmly on the sandbank for eight hours.   Two lifeboats from the KNRM were able to pull the ferry free.  The Monnik continued under its own power to the island.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.
