Zk 12 Pieter Dion

The 20 meter long trawler Zk 12 Pieter Dion went aground close to the shore near Schiermonnikoog, Netherlands.  The vessel requested the assistance and two lifeboats responded.   With some difficulty, the lifeboats were able to connect a towline to the trawler and refloat it.   The Pieter Dion had several nets damaged, but the vessel was in good shape.   The trawler continued under its own power.   No reports of injuries.

Ferry Monnik Aground

The 330 dwt ferry Monnik grounded on a sandbar near Schiermonnikoog, Netherlands. The vessel was able to free itself on the following high tide and continued onto Lauwersoog. No reports of damage or injury to the 49 people onboard.
