The 2-masted sailing vessel Flying Dutchman ran aground in Oban Bay. The Flying Dutchman had run aground during low tide on a reef locally known as “The Scrat”.  The RNLI lifeboat responded to the scene and help disembark the passengers safely. The Flying Dutchman later refloated on the rising tide and was towed by the lifeboat to the pier in Oban.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.

The 26 meter long fishing vessel Acorn Ins237 suffered a power blackout off Auskerry, Scotland.  The Acorn had suffered an electrical fault and could not restart the main engine.  The crew contacted the Shetlands Coast Guard station who asked the RNLI station from Kirkwall to assist.  The RNLI lifeboat reached the scene an hour later and shortly afterwards towed the Acorn to Kirwall.  Both vessels arrived back in port a few hours later.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On June 26, the 25 meter long fishing vessel Georg Lou N ran aground in Stranraer Harbour, Scotland.  The crew requested assistance with the RNLI lifeboat responding.  The lifeboat crew attempted to refloat the scallop dredger, but their efforts failed.  The Georg Lou N was left until the next high tide to free the vessel.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
