The 74 meter long general cargo vessel  Gulfem Kalkavan ran aground in the Marmara Sea near Tuzla, Turkey. The Gulfem Kalkavan had been laid up offshore near the shipyards when the severe storm struck. The anchors dragged on the cargo vessel allowing it to run ashore. The Gulfem Kalkavan hull was punctured against the rocky shoreline allowing water to flood the aft section of the cargo ship. No reports of injuries.

The 59 meter long general cargo vessel partially sank in the Marmara Sea near Balıkesir’in, Turkey. The Pasha had run aground on September 12, 2013 after suffering a severe list after its cargo shifted whileen route to Lebanon from Turkey. The grounded Pasha was blown completed over by the strong storm winds and battered until it partially broke-up.  No reports of injuries.

On August 7, 2014, the 50 meter long fishing vessel Lilly Johanne capsized off a quay in a shipyard in Çeliktrans near Istanbul, Turkey.  The Lilly Johanne was undergoing completion after being launched in January 2014 when it capsized onto its port side.  Booms were placed around the fishing vessel to contain any pollution released.  Reports state damage to be significant.  No reports of injuries.
