The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Christiane went aground on the River Main near Dettelbach, Germany.   The Christiane had suffered engine failure and become disabled just after passing through the lock at Dettelbach.   A few hours later, another self-propelled barge Poseidon along with the tug Domarin 15 were able to pull the Christiane free.   The disabled Christiane was taken under tow by the Domarin 15 to Kitzingen where it will be surveyed.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.  The Christiane was loaded with 970 tons of steel coils bound from Wipfeld Mannheim.

The 80 meter long self-propelled barge Schaumburg was damaged on the Weser River while exiting the lock at Landesbergen, Germany.   The Schaumburg loaded with gravel was proceeding out of the gate at slow speed when the gates were closed.   The vessel’s bow became wedged between the gates causing hull damage estimated around 30000 Euros.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

The 58 meter long self-propelled barge Orenburg pushing the barge UDP C-447 allided with a bridge on the Enns near Mauthausen, Austria.   The vessels had steered to close to the Mauthausen side of the river and struck a pilling.    The barge suffered damage to its bow.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.   Authorities allowed the vessel to proceeded to a nearby estuary.
