The 45-foot fishing vessel Damariscotta sank near Point Judith, Rhode Island. The vessel had contacted the Coast Guard stating the vessel was taking on water and was need of assistance. The Coast Guard responded and were escorting the Damariscotta back to harbor when the vessel began to sink by the stern just before the docks in Galilee, Rhode Island. The vessel sits in 12 feet of water. Reports state that an oil boom was set for any pollution that may be released.

The 8867 dwt general freighter Dongenborg ran aground on the Kattegat near the island of Laeso, Denmark. Reports state the master being drunk during the accident. The vessel has been refloated and is at anchor at Skagen awaiting to be inspected. No reports of pollution release or injuries to the crew onboard.

The ferry Fajardo II becamed disabled after leaving from Culebra Island, Puerto Rico with 59 passengers onboard. The ferry steering broke leaving the vessel only to sail in circles. The ferry was towed back to Culebra harbor by the ferry Isleno. The Coast Guard dispatched 2 cutters to assist the Fajardo II. No reports of injuries to the passengers and 4 crew onboard. Reports state the vessel was docked in Culebra harbor and an investigation was being conducted into the steering failure.
