Wolfrose
The 110 meter long self-propelled barge Wolfrose went aground on the Danube River near Osterhofen, Germany. The Wolfrose was proceeding to Enns, Austria from Nurnberg when it struck a gravel bar. The Wolfrose was unable to free itself and a lighter has been requested due to the low water levels on the river. The barge is carrying 811 tons of soybean meal. The cause of the grounding was due to a navigational error by the Wolfrose’s master. The water police reports there were no injures or pollution released.
