Chevelle
The 72 foot long fishing vessel Chevelle went aground against the jetty at Newport, Oregon. The fishing vessel caught a strong gust of wind and blown onto the jetty. The vessel’s crab pots shifted and Chevelle developed a severe list allowing water ingress into the engine room. The Coast Guard responded to the scene with a lifeboat and helicopter. The helicopter lifted the four crew safely back to shore. No reports of injuries. The crew plans to salvage the vessel.
