Evia Star

Evia Star

The 87 meter long, 940 dwt ro-ro ferry Evia Star collided with a yacht near the port of Marmari, Greece.  The ferry loaded with 57 passengers and vehicles was departing for a scheduled voyage to Rafina when it struck the sailboat.   The sailboat suffered damage to its mast while the Evia Star was undamaged.  No reports of injuries.   The Coast Guard dispatched a rescue boat to tow the yacht back to Marmari.   The Evia Star proceeded back to Marmari to be surveyed, but was later able to continue on its voyage.

The fishing vessel Osterbris became disabled off Floro, Norway.   The trawler was en route to Floro from Maloy when it suffered engine failure.   The Osterbris requested assistance with the NSSR dispatching a rescue boat to the scene.   The rescue boat was able to take the trawler under tow to Floro.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.
