The 207 meter long,  33784 dwt container ship Frisia Rotterdam allided with the  749 dwt ro-ro ferry Express Santorini at Keratsiniou, Greece.   The Frisia Rotterdam was attempting to berth when it struck the moored Express Santorini.   Some damage was reported, but no details provided.   No injuries and no pollution was released.

The 225 meter long, 75460 dwt bulk freighter Jindal Varad became disabled in the Dardanelles near Canakkale, Turkey.   The vessel had suffered engine failure and requested assistance.   The Jindal Varad was taken under tow to Intepe where it dropped anchor.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Cedit 4

The 69 meter long, 1753 dwt freighter Cedit 4 caught fire in the Aegean Sea near Bozcaada, Turkey.   The fire started in the engine room and quickly spread to other sections of the vessel.   The crew sent out a distress call with the authorities responding with rescue boats and tugs.  The rescue boats were able to safely evacuated the crew while the master of the Cedit 4 stayed on board.   The fire was brought under control a few hours later.   No reports of pollution being released.   Reports state the Cedit 4 was in ballast at the time.
