Lærdal

The 80 meter long, 820 dwt ro-ro ferry Laerdal allided with the 64 meter long, 250 dwt ro-ro ferry Sunnfjord near Vangsnes, Norway.  The Laerdal was approaching the quay where the Sunnfjord was moored when it suffered a fault with the propulsion system.  The Laerdal struck the side of the Sunnfjord.   No reports of injuries to passengers or crew on both vessels.  No further details reported.

The 76.8 gt fishing vessel Hoyo Maru No. 18 became disabled in the Pacific Ocean between Japan and Midway Islands.  The fishing vessel had suffered engine failure and went adrift.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Pioneer Bay

Pioneer Bay

The 101 meter long, 5580 dwt container ship Pioneer Bay became disabled in the North Sea.   The Pioneer Bay was en route to Bremerhaven from Kristiansund when it suffered engine failure.    The vessel went adrift until the crew was able to make repairs and restore partial power.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.   The Pioneer Bay proceeded on towards Bremerhaven at reduced speed.
