The 132 meter long, 82908 dwt container ship Merwedijk became disabled at Cuxhaven.   The container ship had left the quay bound for Rotterdam when it suffered engine failure and power blackout.   The Merwedijk attempted to slow down by dropping anchor but drifted into a jetty.   The jetty was damaged in the allision while the Merwedijk sustained minimal damage.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.   The Merwedijk was allowed to continue its voyage the next day.

The 66 meter long, 1784 dwt freighter Mokosica became disabled near Valderøya, Norway.  The freighter had suffered engine failure and drifted off course.  The Mokosica drifted toward the rocks at Valderøya, but the crew was able to drop anchor just short of a small pier.   A NSSR lifeboat was requested and arrived on scene to take the Mokosica under tow.   The vessels proceeded out of the bay to Ålesund.  No reports of injuries to the six crew on board, damage or pollution released.

The 102 meter long, 2790 dwt fish factory Master caught fire in the Bering Sea near Tilichiki, Kamchatka, Russia.  The fire started while fish was being transferred to a reefer.   Seventy-six of the 84 crew were evacuated to the reefer while the remaining crew fought the blaze.   A few hours later the crew were able to extinguish the fire.  The Master suffered extensive damage to the engine room and bridge.   The vessel will be taken under tow to Nevelsk, Sakhalin Island.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.
