The 80 meter long self-propelled barge Getan went aground on the Danube River near Winzer, Germany.  The vessel was en route to Russe from Deggendorf when it grounded onto a gravel bar.  The master of the Getan had been blinded by the sun and steered the barge out of the fairway.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 18 meter long catamaran passenger ship Dream Weaver suffered water ingress while in the Tiri Channel near Whangaparaoa, New Zealand.  The vessel was on a dolphin-watching cruise with four crew and 36 passengers.  The vessel requested assistance with three Coast Guard boats and a yacht responding.  The rescue boats were able to safely transfer the passengers off the Dream Weaver and return them to shore.   The Dream Weaver was then assisted back to port.  No reports of injuries.  While in port, the Dream Weaver suffered an electrical fire.  The fire started in the engine room and was quickly extinguished by the crew.   Maritime New Zealand has launched an investigation into the incident.
