The 50 meter long feeder vessel Sui Hai Yun 382 ran aground near Tuen Mun, Hong Kong.  The Sui Hai Yun 382 was en route to Tuen Mun to unload a cargo of containers when it suffered engine failure and power black out.  The feeder vessel went adrift until it went ashore onto the beach.  No reports of injuries to the seven crew on board or damage to the vessel.  The Sui Hai Yun 382 was later refloated the same day.  The marine police was investigating the incident.

The 172 meter long self-propelled barge  Maranta I and the barge Maranta II went aground on the Rhine near Cologne, Germany.  The vessel attempted to refloat itself, the two vessels seperated.  The Maranta II drifted and collided with the 103 meter long passenger ship River Cloud 2.  The River Cloud 2 suffered minor scrapes and bent radar.  Traffic halted on the river until a dredger arrived on scene and lightered some cargo. The Maranta was en route from Bonn with a cargo of soy.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

The 140 meter long, 6500 dwt tanker Midvolga 1 ran aground on the Don River in the Tsimlyansk Reservoir.  The tanker was en route to Kavkaz from Oktyabrsk with 4790 tons of heavy oil when it grounded.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
