Bømlo

Boemlo 2

The 66 meter long ro-ro ferry Bømlo became disabled while in the fjord in Huglehammaren, Norway.  The ferry was en route to Kvinnherad from Halsnøy with 21 persons on board when the crew spotted smoke coming from the engine.  The crew attempted to continue on course at a slower speed, but the main engine failed a short time later.  The crew requested assistance with the tug Eide Rex responding.  The Eide Rex took the Bømlo under tow and proceeded to Rubbestadnesed.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
