The 290 meter long container ship Wanhe ran aground off the port of Aguadulce, Columbia. The Wanhe was rounding a bend in the access channel to the terminal in Buenaventura when the Wanhe steered out of the navigation fairway. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Wanhe is expected to be refloated on the following high tide. The Wanhe had arrived from Manzanillo with 731 containers.

Bagration

On September 21, the fishing vessel Bagration caught fire off Sakhalin, Russia. The blaze started in a storeroom containing corrugated packaging. The crew attempted to extinguish the fire and were joined by the  crew of the vessel Captain Efremov.  Some 20 crew men were evacuated off the Bagration.  Reports state the fire was finally extinguished later the same day.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

The 42 foot long fishing vessel Sea Shepherd collided with the Coast Guard Cutter Key Largo off Vieques, Puerto Rico. The Key Largo struck the fishing vessel during the early morning hours. The Sea Shepherd sank after the collision in 100 feet of water. The two crew on the Sea Shepherd were safely rescued.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.
