Straubing

On July 24, the 190 meter long self-propelled barge Straubing became disabled on the Danube near Mühlham, Germany. The Straubing, loaded with rape, was passing a dredger when it’s propeller became entangled in the steel cable from the dredger.  Divers were requested to remove the cable.  The Straubing was taken to Deggendorf for further repairs.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On July 25, the 88 meter long cargo vessel Traveberg ran aground off Nibe Bredning, Denmark. The Traveberg was en route to Aggersund from Fredericia in ballast when ran aground. A tug was requested and refloated the Traveberg an hour later. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.  Reports state a pilot was on board the vessel at the time of the grounding.
