The 117 meter long, 3133 dwt ro-ro cargo vessel Taba capsized and sank in the Red Sea just outside the port of Safaga, Egypt. The Taba had just departed from Safaga bound for Dhiba with cargo of trucks when it suffered a cargo shift.  The 37 persons on board were able to safely abandon ship and were later rescued by Egyptian rescue boats. The Taba  capsized and sank. No reports of injuries.  Reports state the trucks on deck had not be properly secured which lead to the incident.

The cargo vessel Hai Truong 36 ran aground  off Binh Thuan, Vietnam. The Hai Truong 36 was departed from Hai Phong with 3,000 tons of rice on board  when it grounded off La Gi.  The vessel lost stability, but the crew was able to correct by ballasting. No reports of injuries to the 13 crew on board.  Lightering was started later the same day with 500 tons of cargo unloaded to assist in refloating the cargo vessel.

The 229 meter long, 81,688 dwt bulk carrier Ever Grand ran aground in Brake, Germany. The Ever Grand had arrived from Aratu with 60,000 tons of soy pellets when it became stuck at the south pier. Two tugs were unable to refloat the bulk carrier initially, but were successful when the tide returned. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
