On March 6, the 19 meter long fishing vessel Miss Cory capsized and sank off Cape Lazo, Vancouver, British Columbia. The vessel was fishing herring when it capsized when the vessel developed a list. One crewman went below to investigate, but without warning the Miss Cory capsized and sank.

The Four crew on deck were tossed into the water while one crewman was trapped below in the engine room. A nearby fishing vessel rescued the four crew.  Authorities dispatched Coast Guard vessels and a helicopter to the scene to look for the remaining crewman. After a search of the area, the search was called  off. The crewman was listed missing and presumed drowned.

The Miss Cory sank and rests in 250 meters of water. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 11 meter long fishing vessel Tarvikbøen sank next to a floating pier in Båtsfjord, Norway.  Authorities were notified the vessel had sunk and deployed a patrol vessel to the scene. They found only the top of the mast of the Tarvikbøen visible above water.

Reports state the vessel had arrived the night before with a 4,000 kg of fish on board.  No one was on board the vessel at the time of the sinking. The cause of the sinking was not yet determined by authorities.

The 188 meter long, 35079 dwt cargo vessel Caledonia ran aground in the port of Constanța, Romania. The Caledonia departed from its berth with 10,678 tonnes of laminates bound for Veracruz. As it maneuvered away from the berth, the bow of the Caledonia ran aground just off the east peir Farul Carol I lighthouse. No reports of injuries.

Following the grounding, authorities inspected the Caledonia for damage. Finding no damage to the hull, it was determine the vessel would need to be lightered before it could be refloated. After 1,000 tonnes of cargo was unloaded, three tugs pulled the Caledonia free.  The Caledonia proceeded back to the berth to be reloaded.  No reports of damage or pollution released.
