The 4433 dwt freighter Baccara collided with the canal ferry Breslau at Brunsbuettel in the Kiel Canal.   Reports state that one of the vessels was forced to do an evasive manoever causing the collision.   The Baccara suffered no damage while the Breslau suffered some damage to the hull and upper deck.   No injuries on either vessel.   The Baccara was sailing to Rotterdam from Klaipeda with a cargo of liquid fertilizer and grain.

Train Disabled by Barge Strike

Train Disabled by Barge Strike

The 65 meter long barge Parmelia I forced train service to stop in Fremantle, Australia.   The barge  had allided with multiple pylons of the Fremantle rail bridge causing damage to a overhead power supply mast for the train line.  The Parmelia I also suffered minor hull damage, but no reports of pollution being released.    The Parmelia I is typically used to refuel other vessels while in port.  Authorities will be conducting an investigation into the incident.
