The 4828 dwt tanker Happy Bee became disabled near Le Havre after suffering engine problems.  The tug MTS Viscount, with the assistance of the tug Fairplay 21, took the Happy Bee under tow to Port Wilton.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.

Scrap Cargo Fire

A fire broke out in the cargo hold of the 1768 dwt freighter Rebecca Rousing while moored at the Stallbacka harbour in Trollhättan, Sweden.  The fire started in the cargo of scrap cars which spread a thick acrid smoke over the area.   A port crane was initially used to pull out the burning cargo, but emergency services were called out and were able to get the fire under control.   No reports of injuries.    An assessment to the extent of damage caused by fire is to be conducted.

Kochi Fishing Vessel Sank

Kochi Fishing Vessel Sank

The fishing vessel Mother Fathima collided with an anchor cable of the dreger Kamal XXXIII near the harbour of Kochi, India.   The port control contacted the Coast Guard that the Mother Fathima had collided and was sinking.  The Coast Guard deployed its interceptor boat which rescued 4 crewmen of the fishing vessel.   The Mother Fathima was reported totally sank.    No further details reported.
