Stella Wega Disabled

Stella Wega Disabled

The 4350 dwt tanker Stella Wega becamed disabled off Flushing, Netherlands after an engine failure.  The tugs Multratug 3 and Multratug 5 arrived on scene and towed the Stella Wega to Flushing.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.

CMA CGM Libra Aground

CMA CGM Libra Aground

The 131,000 dwt boxship CMA CGM Libra went aground at the port of Xiamen, China.   The 363 meter long vessel grounding was severe  resulting with more than 10 degree list at high tide.    The company has started salvage plans.  No injuries or pollution has been released.

Update: May 27th, the CMA CGM Libra was successfully refloated.  Initial reports state the vessel did not suffer any hull damage and is proceeding to Hong Kong.

Vectis Isle Aground

Vectis Isle Aground

The 3774 dwt freighter Vectis Isle ran aground off the island of Kefallos, Greece.   The Vectis Isle was able to refloat itself the same day.   No report of damage or pollution being released.   The freighter proceeded to Amfilochia with a tug escort.  The vessel will be detained until it can be inspected.   The Vectis Isle was scheduled to sail from the Ionian Sea for Amfilochia, Greece.
