The 105 meter long, 3997 dwt freighter Kivach went aground on the Volga River near the 2613.5 kilometer mark.   The freighter suffered no damage and the a tug was dispatched to assist with refloating.  The Kivach was underway from Ukraine to Iran with 2500 metric tons of steel before the incident.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
