The 264 dwt tanker Salnyy went aground near Svyatonosskiy, Barents Sea.    The Salnyy was heaving it’s anchor when the tanker suffered an engine failure.   The Salnyy drifted onto a rocky shoal which holed the hull below the waterline near the engine room.  The crew was able to restart the engine and proceeded to Ostrovnoy, Russia.   While in port, the tanker sealed the hole and pumped the engine room dry.   The Salnyy is scheduled to be towed to Murmansk.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.   At the time of grounding, the Salnyy was in ballast.
